[English below] Mestari Maria Grazia Vallone saapuu helmikuussa Suomeen opettamaan. Mikä häntä kiehtoo Muay Boranissa? Mikä opettamisessa motivoi? Lue mestarin terveiset IMBA Finlandille sekä Muay Boranista kiinnostuneille.
Minulle Muay Boran on elämäntapa. Harjoittelen päivittäin kehittyäkseni niin fyysisesti kuin psyykkisestikin. Ennen kaikkea tämän taistelulajin ansiosta jaksan arjessa paremmin.
Aloitin Muay Boranin harjoittelun vuonna 1998 ja tarkoitukseni on jatkaa niin kauan kuin voin. Tässä piileekin akatemiassamme IMBA:ssa harjoittelemamme lajin hienous: Mestari Marco De Cesaris on luonut järjestelmän, jonka mukaan kuka tahansa voi harjoitella. Iällä ei ole merkitystä, ja lajia voi harjoitella erilaisin tavoittein – oli perustana sitten urheilu tai taistelulaji itsessään.
Olin äärimmäisen onnekas, kun sain tavata mestari Marco De Cesarisin ja sitä kautta koko IMBA-akatemian. Ilman tätä sattumaa sekä jatkuvaa ahkeraa harjoittelua en olisi nyt tässä.
Kuten sanottua, taistelulajien - tässä tapauksessa Muay Boranin – hienous piilee siinä, ettet koskaan lakkaa oppimasta ja kehittymästä paremmaksi. Tätä työstän myös itse: aloitan jatkuvasti alusta tavoitteenani kehittyä koko ajan niin harjoittelijana kuin opettajanakin.
Opettaminen on minulle Muay Boranissa se, mistä pidän ehdottomasti eniten. Rakastan opettamista – se on mielestäni todellinen testi: jos oppilaani kehittyvät, se tarkoittaa, että teen myös itse työni hyvin.
Toivon, että vierailullani Suomessa voin välittää tätä intohimoani Muay Borania kohtaan. Haluan kiittää IMBA Finlandia erinomaisesta työstä, jota se tekee päivittäin. Odotan todella tapaavani teidät – terveisiä sinne IMBA:n päämajasta!

For me, Muay Boran is a way of life. I continue every day to practice it in order to improve both physically and mentally. Above all thanks to this martial art I can better face everyday life.
I started practicing Muay Boran in 1998 and my intention is to continue doing so as long as I can. This is the beautiful thing about the Muay Boran that we practice in our Academy (IMBA). Maestro Marco De Cesaris has created a system that can be practiced by anyone, in any situation (sports or martial) and at any age.
Hadn’t I been lucky enough to meet Master Marco De Cesaris and consecuently the Academy, I wouldn’t have continued to train so assiduously – I wouldn’t have arrived where I am now.
As already said, the beautiful thing about martial arts – in this case Muay Boran is that you’ll never stop learning and getting better. This is the work I do myself – always starting from the beginning with the goal to continuously improve myself both as a practitioner and as a teacher.
It’s in the teaching that I get the maximum satisfaction in Muay Boran. I love teaching and consider it the real test: because if my students improve it means that I’m working well myself, too.
I hope to pass all my passion for this martial art during my time in Finland. I want to thank IMBA Finland for the great work it does every day! I am really looking forward to meeting you - greetings from the IMBA headquarters!

Master Maria Grazia Vallone is a professional teacher and master of Muay Boran. She teaches in the headquarters of International Muay Boran Academy (IMBA) in Rome, Italy. Vallone is both qualified teacher of IMBA Muay Lert Rit and Combat Muay Boran.
